Postcards are a powerful and cost-effective marketing tool, particularly useful as a mailer. Foil makes them stand out even more!

16pt + 2pt Laminated Stock

Our regular 16pt C2S stock is laminated with a silky matte lamination to create the smooth texture and thickness of these metallic foil postcards before we add our foil finish printing.

Gold or Silver Foil Printing + CMYK

With custom foil printing, you’ll be able to offer your clients gold foil printed holiday postcards, silver foil finish wedding invitations, and more. The possibilities are endless with metallic foil postcard printing.

Raised Foil Postcards

Our foil finish printing technique causes the gold or silver metallic foil to rise slightly from the postcard. That’s why our metallic foil postcards come with a unique tactile experience that your customer will love.

Important Foil Printing Guidelines from imagePro365 for this specific Foil Product. (Other foil products will have different guidelines)

To achieve the best possible foil print results and avoid delays or unexpected outcomes, please follow these guidelines when preparing your artwork for imagePro365 to print:

  • Use fonts larger than 8 pt
Keep foil text at least 7–8 pt for best readability and production reliability.
  • Use sans serif fonts
Sans serif fonts generally foil more cleanly and reduce the risk of filling in or loss of detail.
  • Avoid artwork underneath foil areas
Do not place printed artwork directly under foil. Instead, use a mask so foil sits on a clean area.
  • Avoid heavy foil coverage with fine non-foil details knocked out
Large foil areas with small text or thin linework knocked out tend to fill in during production.
  • Keep foil away from the trimmed edge
Our equipment manufacturer does not recommend extending foil all the way to the trim edge. Maintain at least a 5 mm foil-free area around all edges.

If you supply foil artwork with full bleed, our automation will automatically apply a 5 mm gap from the trim edge to reduce the risk of foil lifting or peeling. This non-foiled gap may be visible along the edges. For best results, please avoid full-bleed foil designs.

Text and Lettering Recommendations for Foil

  • Add more space between letters
Metallic foil needs extra room to apply cleanly.
For smaller text, increase tracking slightly (around +20 to +50). Watch for letters that sit very close together and space them out.
  • Choose appropriate font weight
Avoid ultra-bold or very heavy fonts for foil. Use regular or medium weights to prevent letters from filling in.
  • Reduce overly thick letter shapes
If your text appears tight or heavy, you can add a very thin outline (stroke) inside each letter and set the outline color to match the background. This visually thins the letters and creates more space between strokes.

This helps because metallic foil can spread slightly during production—thinner letters are less likely to touch or fill in once foiled.
  • Allow for foil spread
Foil can spread a bit during the stamping process, and very small gaps may disappear. Keep visible spaces between letters and shapes no thinner than 0.3–0.5 pt.
